Councilman Brent Taylor has announced receipt of major funding for workforce development. He says over $1.4 million has been received for use in Fayette and Shelby counties. The City of Memphis will distribute the funds that originated from both the federal and state labor departments.
Funds received will assist youths, adults, and dislocated workers in pursuit of job training and new employment. Taylor chaired the committee that approved receipt of the funds.
