Dear Friend:

As you know, I've traveled across Middle and West Tennessee for the past several months talking with folks about a potential campaign for Congress. Those discussions were predicated on a vacancy occurring in the Seventh Congressional District seat. When Senator Fred Thompson recently announced that he would not campaign for governor, Congressman Ed Bryant decided to seek another term in the House of Representatives.

I will wholeheartedly support Congressman Bryant in his re-election effort next year. Our district is very fortunate to have a man of his integrity serving us in Washington. I will support Ed Bryant as long as he wishes to remain in Congress.

In the meantime, I'll continue working hard to represent Memphians on the City Council. Also, I'll keep working to build the Republican Party in Tennessee and elect more Republicans to office.
