Memphis City Councilman Brent Taylor was honored by the Dickson County Republican Party at their recent Lincoln Day dinner. Chairman Mary Littleton presented Taylor with a plaque recognizing his strong support of the Dickson County Republicans.
Councilman Taylor donated $1,000 to Dickson Republicans at their February executive committee meeting. The donation came from campaign funds Taylor did not spend in his successful 1999 re-election effort. His contribution covered the cost of meals at the annual dinner so that the local party would have a larger profit margin. The party plans to use the Lincoln Day proceeds to obtain and support a campaign headquarters in this important election year.
"I was surprised to receive special recognition from the Dickson County Republican Party," said Taylor. "It was a pleasure to help other Republicans in our effort to elect a Republican President," he commented. Taylor represents District 2 on the City Council which includes Cordova and East Memphis.
