Councilman Brent Taylor has announced the receipt of funding for workforce development. He says over $335,000 has been designated for distribution in Fayette and Shelby counties. The City of Memphis will distribute the funds that come from both federal and state departments of labor.
The funds will assist dislocated workers in pursuit of job training and new employment. Taylor chaired the committee that approved receipt of the funds. He says additional monies should be forthcoming in October.
Councilman Taylor represents Cordova and East Memphis.
